Purple NECtar is an exercise with which Defense offers an experimental environment for Network Enabled Capabilities (NEC). It is therefore the IT innovation platform to support experiments for and through all operational commands and the parties for public order and safety. The organization of Purple NECtar is in the hands of the IT department knowledge, innovation, experiments and simulation (KIXS), part of the IT organization of Defense within the Defense Material Organization.

Purple NECtar takes place from 13 to 22 November 2017 on the Vlasakkers in Amersfoort. Defense units, companies and research institutes then come together to show IT innovations and experiments, sharing knowledge and inspiring ideas and testing solutions in practice. On November 22, the Purple NECtar visitors' day with this year is: the announcement of 'The best idea of Purple NECtar 2017', the election of the winning presentation of the 'Innovation Game Defense' and the Kix's lecture evening.

The Purple NECtar Visitor Day on November 22 starts at 10 am with two inspiring Keynote Speakers. Register in advance to get acquainted with a wide range of innovations from the collaboration with companies, knowledge institutes and defense in the field of interoperability and situational awareness. In a varied program you make choices how to participate in briefings, workshops, demonstrations in Velde or the 'Static Show' of the participating parties. Also participate in the 'Kix's lecture evening', which presents very interesting topics. After this Kix's lecture evening you can chat with each other during a networking drink, from 8.30 pm to 10 pm.
